Good morning peeps! 4/20 is only 2 days away, so let’s get prepared! First, most of you know that I spend my weekends baking edibles. What you might not know is that the first step to baking with cannabis is decarboxylating your marijuana/flower/trim. Most of us just use the oven or toaster oven, but you can lose a lot of THC by doing this. I stumbled upon this 4/20 Survival Guide blog post by Corinne at Wake + Bake Cookbook where you can win a Nova Decarboxylator by Ardent and I just had to share with you all! I really hope I win this machine but if I don’t, I’m totally saving up to invest in one. Check it out, you can read all about it and how it works here. And for what it’s worth, Corinne’s blog totally rocks and I could spend hours just reading her posts and following her links! #420survivalpack
So yesterday I baked cookies all day. Unfortunately, I don’t yet own the Nova Decarboxylator, so I just decarbed in my oven. I made my tried-and-true, quickly-becoming-famous Peanut Butter Cookies and then I made something new: White Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, and Oatmeal Cookies:
They came out absolutely amazing. You can find the recipe here – I simply substitute CannaButter for the regular butter. My “test” for cookies is whether they taste medicated or not – as far as I’m concerned, the best edibles don’t taste like edibles. These cookies were a success.
Then I had a little bit of medicated coconut oil left over and I realized I had some unsweetened coconut flakes that I wanted to use up, so I decided to make medicated chocolate cupcakes with coconut whipped cream frosting…
OMG. Like – O. M. G. They tasted like Snowballs… do you remember Snowballs?!? Those disgustingly sweet but delicious little snack cakes covered in pink coconut? Yeah, these are like those – only they’re organic and medicated so yeah… like 100 times better. Yum.
So this is my #420survivalpack – what are YOU doing for 4/20? Don’t forget to enter the contest for your chance to win all kinds of goodies! Peace.
